KILL on the spid in question is the only way I can think of. Short of
rebooting the server.

I'm a rookie with MSSQL. I need to run a DTS package to export a result set
to an MX Excel spread sheet. I need to call the DTS from a stored procedure
and pass it three values, depending on the input parameters to the stored
proc.
DTS package is no problem. Pretty easy with the DTS wizard. My problem is
that I can't figure out how to instansiate the DTS package object from a
stored proc and pass the three values as parameters to the DTS...

I wrote a medium length stored proc that uses both temp tables and one
cursor.
I compiled and it ran fine.
However, we reboot our machine every weekend, and on Mondays the
stored proc gets the following errors :

We have a console.php which takes in SQL queries and displays them in a
result.php webpage.
Sometimes the query takes minutes to execute or crashes the PHP
application. Is it possible to cancel a query during execution?
If yes, how does one go about it.
The PHP Console is used by multiple users simultaneously.
The queries are executed on a Remote Database.

I've always been taught that stored procedures are better than writing SQL
in client code for a number of reasons:
- runs faster as is compiled and lives on the database server
- is the more proper tier to put it since is a data function
But then I've heard that writing SQL in my client .NET code might run just
as fast? Dynamic SQL or something?
And then there's LINQ on the horizon. Is it a successor to everything

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
