Which Sql Server error number is used when a table has a deadlock?

I want to set an alert for a specific table whenever an event has
caused a deadlock to occur on the table.

I understand how to set up an alert. But I don't know which error
number to use for the New Alert error number property for a deadlock.
Or how to specify a deadlock on a specific table.

Thanks,
DW

The error number for deadlock is 1205.

You cannot really do that. A deadlock is not really on a table. A deadlock
can involve a number of resources. A resource *can* be an entire table,
but must often it is a key or a page in a table. Or several tables in
the same deadlock.

After a lot of thought and research, and playing with FreeTDS and InlineTDS, as well as various ODBC connections, I have determined that the fastest and cheapest way to get up and going with PHP on Linux, connecting to MS SQL Server, unless it was already pre-installed by your Linux installation, is to build your own multithreaded TCP socket server on Windows and connect to it through the socket API in PHP on Linux (if you have installed...

Hi all, I'm trying to help out a friend who has inherited a client with a PHP shopping cart application. Neither of us know PHP, but I've been muddling my way through, trying to get these old scripts working on a new server with the most recent version of PHP. I've pretty much taken care of all the various errors that were popping up. Most only pointed out out non-fatal undefined or assumed variables. I've been able to cure most of...

Hello, What could possibly cause data in the SQL server database to be removed, except being deleted manually? We had a couple of situations where data in certain records disappeared although the records were still there. The data is entered and editted through the web interface in ASP. The web interface is accessed by anyone who has an account in our database. I am more of a web programmer, not a SQL server administrator, so not very...

Hi I'm having a problem with deadlocks in a table in SQL server when trying to update it through Biztalk 2004. There is no problem when I use the same Biztalk solution to update a similar dummy table, but when I try updating the original table in the production database, some transactions are updated successfully whereas others become the victim of the deadlock (Transaction (Process ID 185) was deadlocked on lock resources with another...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
