SQL Server Enterprise Manager could not start the service 'MSDTC' on server
'NTAS21'.
1722 - (The RPC server is unavailable)
I Setup A publication on a server called NTAS4D, then Pushed The
Subscription to another server called NTAS21. If I configure so that the
changes at the subscriber are not replicated to the publisher, all works ok,
I make a change at the publisher, it is replicated to the subscriber.

On one of our machines, all of the SQL Server 2000
components except for the main Server component (SQL Server
core) itself were installed (Management tools, etc) a while ago
and everything was running fine. Now I go and add/install the
Server component and then Service Pack 3a.
It seems that Service Manager won't start up (I get an hourglass cursor)
and now I find that Enterprise Manager won't run as well. No error
messages appeared...

I have the option to automatically start SQL Server on startup, but
when it does start up, the SQL Server Service Manager does not have
the green arrow indicating that it is active. When I double-click it
to display the SQL Server Service Manager, it shows the name of the
server, but no services in the drop-down box.
When I start Enterprise Manager I see an instance of MSDE where
someone installed an...

Hi,
I have created a windows service in VB.net using VS .Net (v. 1.1,
..Net Framework 1.1). The problem I have is that after I create a setup
project for my service, and then install the service, the service does
not show up in my service manager. For this to happen I have to use
installutil.exe. I have a project installer in my service project, and
I have created services in C# without encountering this problem. Is
there some subtle ...

I opened up Terminal Service Manager on my SQL Server to close out some
ghost connections. Then I minimized the application. After working on
some other issues. I right clicked on the minimized icon of Terminal
Service Manager on my tool bar and closed it. Now when I go to
Start/Admin Tools/Terminal Service Manager, it opens up minimized and I
can't get it to maximize to close out ghost connections. The only way
I can close it is to...

Hi all,
maybe somebody can help me with a service installation problem in VS
2003, C#.
First, I added an installer project to a solution with a program that
shall run as a service. So far, so good, the program installs ok with
the resulting msi file, is obviously registered as service and visible
in the service manager.

I'm a newbie trying to find the SQL Server Enterprise Manager so I can
create a database. I have installed SQL Server 2005 Express and SQL Server
Management Studio Express. On the SQL Server menu I see (1) Configuration
Tools and (2) SQL Server Management Studio Express. The SQL Server
Management Studio Express menu has 3 items on it. Where do I find the
Enterprise Manager?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
