Ok,
I have a data warehouse that I am pulling records from using Oracle
SQL. I have a select statement that looks like the one below. Now what
I need to do is where the astrics are **** create a case statement or
whatever it is in Oracle to say that for this record if a 1/19/2005
record exists then End_Date needs to be=1/19/2005 else get
End_Date=12/31/9999. Keep in mind that a record could have both a
1/19/2005 and 12/31/9999 instance...

Hello All -
I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on which is better from a
performance perspective: a nested Select statement or an Inner Join.
For example, I could do either of the following:
SELECT supplier_name
FROM supplier

Hi folks,
I have a problem with an MS Access SQL query which is being used in an
Access Report, and am wondering if anyone can help.
Basically, my query (shown below) gets some records from a couple of
tables in my database using INNER JOINS and the WHERE clause to
specify the required constraints. However, I also want to read two
fields from a *single* record from a table called 'Locations' and then
apply one of these field's values...

Dear List,
as it seems, MS SQL as used in Access does not allow a select INTO
within a UNION query. Also, it seems that a UNION query can not be used
as a subquery.
Maybe my (simplified) problem can avoid these technicalities: the
original table has columns
A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.

I have a query with a subquery in it. The Subquery JOINS inspection
history with another table. The subquery data looks like:
Subquery `Q`:
------ -------
1486 --- 3/10/2006 --- 872001050 --- EVT
1487 --- 3/5/2004 ----- 872001050 --- EVT
1488 --- 3/1/2002 ----- 872001050 --- EVT

I am using 5.0.26-NT on Windows 2000.
I have need to use a reference in the outer from clause in a subquery in
the select clause. Consider the following example:
Select (select b.baitID from b where b.entrydate curdate()) as
wantedBaitIDs from bait_tbl b;
My actual need is more complex than this as part of it is a rough cross
tab. If I try to define the table in the alias, not only do I lose

I have simple Select Query using two small tables.
Table A includes Statement ID & Date.
Table B includes Statement ID, Loan ID & Payment Amount.
The Query selects payments and amounts from Table B and the Date from
Table A of each Payment.
When I use Group to Select the Latest Payment for a given Loan ID it
often selects the 2nd, 3rd or 4th Payment when the ungrouped result
shows all repayments.

Hello all!
I don't know if this can even be done, but I'm sure you will either help or suggest another avenue to accomplish the same.
My problem may be a simple find duplicates / do something with only one of the duplicates issue, but I got to the point where an update query with a nested select subquery would work wonderfully, if only it would work!
I have several fields in a master Access 2000 table, some of which are id, fname,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
