transactional replication - re-syncing publisher from subscriber after failure

I have taken over a transactional replication setup that is being used
for fault tolerance (I know, I know...).

The scenario I am concerned with is where the publisher goes down due to
failure, so we need to point our application at the subscriber and start
updating the data there. We are not using the immediate updating option.

How do I go about re-syncing the publisher with the data that been added
to, or changed on the subscriber, when the publisher comes back online?

Thanks,

TGru

GM
you might want to use Merge Replication instead of Transactional
Replication.

I am running transactional replication, replicating a 300 GB database. When building the original subscription, I did not run a snapshot, but initialized my subscription through backup. Now, when I'm adding a new article, I'm unable to initialize it using the snapshot agent. On the other hand, if I initialize my subscription through...

i accidentally ran an UPDATE statement without the WHERE clause on a customer's live customers table. After saying "oh shit" many many times, i closed the ad-hoc query tool, hoping DB2 would see my disconnect and rollback the implicit transaction. (Either that or DB2 would have completed the updated before it saw my disconnect). So, there...

Hi, Our SQL Replication is between DB2 databases on Windows servers. I'm searching for the document which tells me how to migrate our SQL Replication environment from V8 to V9 (we also need to migrate from V7 to V8 but that's fully described so that's no problem). The PDF 'Migrating to Replication Version 9' doesn't contain a description...
