Hello All,
We are currently looking into archiving our production system. I have
looked into several different options to accomplish this, and Oracle
Replication is one of them.
Can anyone give me any info on Oracle Replication? We currently have
Oracle 8i, and it comes with the GUI interface Replication Manager,
which we would be using. We are running on a Windows environment. I
have read issues about having to monitor too...

Hi
I hold a Design Master for development and synchronise this weekly
with my colleague who enters data and runs reports. This has worked
well for the last 3 months. (He e-mails me a copy and I'm scrupulous
about keeping files in the right place!)
This week Synchronisation failed because "it is not a replicable
database".
I tried compact and repair on the Replica. This produced Conflict
Tables for both my Tables and...

Hi,
Does anyone have experience in replicating between two servers running
2000 with a database in 65 compatibility mode?
Here's my situation. I'm setting up two servers. Server 1 is the
transaction server and Server 2 is the reporting server. Both servers
are running Win 2000 and SQL Server 2000. I have several databases to
setup transactional replication from the transaction server to the
reporting server. One of the databases on...

Hi,
I am setting up transactional replication and have run into a problem… Can anyone help?
The table I am publishing is called Area. The table, Area, is the same on both the publisher and the subscriber.
When executing transactional replication, the error I get from the distribution agent is:-
Cannot update identity column 'AreaId'.

Hi!
I have transactional replication setup to a remote server. My
application is pointing to that server for reporting function.
Everytime I ran a report it locks the replication and replication
times out. In my reports I specified No Lock (not sure if this did
anything) but reporting still locking replication.
Any suggestions on how to implement reporting and replication so the
latter doesn't lock the former?

Hi All,
I have a table with a column DeletedDate which stores a logical delete
of a record.
I need to set up transactional replication for reporting purposes that
this deleted records should not be replicated to the subscriber. That
is, if i see a value on the DeletedDate, I don't want that record to
be picked up for replication.

Hello everyone,
I am involved in a scenario where there is a huge (SQL Server 2005)
production database containing tables that are updated multiple times
per second. End-user reports need to be generated against the data in
this database, and so the powers-that-be came to the conclusion that a
reporting database is necessary in order to offload report processing
from production; of course, this means that data will have to be
replicated...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
