Hi I would appreciate advice concerning what I need to learn to develop a web based database which I need to create as part of my computer course. The database will be fully web based, it should allow members of a club to subscribe to various groups and will enable group leaders to send email to the group.

Hey, I've been expanding my skills in web programming recently. I taught myself the basics of ASP 3.0, but I want to get into .NET and ASP.NET (and ADO.NET, for that matter). Can anyone point me to any good online tutorials and the like as a starting place? (I prefer working in C/C++ style languages, so if beggars can be choosy I'd prefer tutorials that don't use the VB syntax, but I'll take what I can get).

I want to learn how to write a BHO for Internet Explorer. I am somewhat new to VB.NET. The specific thing that I need accomplished is a sort of browser hijacker (for legitimate reasons). I need the public-access computers at work to always be set to a certain webpage. I want to write a small program (BHO) to run every time IE starts that will set the homepage to the company site. Often MSN hijacks the browser, or someone pushes the...

Like, at time 0 - Number of events 2 at time 1 - Number of events 3 at time 2 - Number of events 0 at time 3 - Number of events 100 so on .., I have to take time on one axis and these numbers on the other. But could any one tell me how to plot all these values so as to get a curve shape,(probably the numbers i have will lead to a curve) in C or C++

In pseudo-code, what I want to do is something like this: index = random number between 1 and maximum colour string resources string = get resource with above index

I need some help in furthering my education in OOP. I have developed a set of PHP scripts that I use in a fairly sophisticated database driven website, but I am not proud of the rather amateurish programming that I used to create the functionality. Although I use classes and objects to organize my data and their related functions, it seems to be only marginally better than plain procedural programming. For example, I do not use...

Hello everyone! I've been programming for several years doing web sites, web services, controls, etc. using VB6, VB.NET, C#, ASP, JavaScript and XML, well I'm bored with creating web sites and looking for something new and challenging and take the next step in my IT career. In my opinion anyone can create a web site with the right tools. I started programming with creating simple games in qbasic (nothing fancy or high tech), just plain...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
