It's a bit confusing, because Intuit also list the operating systems supported in a separate section. As I read it, the spec above is telling us the product will work on a wide range of workstations, including PCs running Windows 7/8 etc, database servers running Windows Server 2003 / 2008 etc. It does not mean that you need to install SQL Server or any other client-server DB, and indeed there is no mention at all of these in their information on software compatibility.

I take this to mean that whatever DB they use is supplied and installed along with the product itself - no separate purchase necessary. Check directly with them if you are in doubt on this.

Hi, I am using Access2000 and have developed a data base which successfully uses DAO code in some of the forms to update tables. Recently I converted the data base to a split MDE data base and now get errors in the DAO methods. IE: Dim Rst As DAO.Recordset Set Rst = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("TableName") Rst.Index = "IndexName"

Hello I'm making a PDA project that uses a data base. That data base is saved in a xml file. When the application starts up, I load the xml file in memory. The application makes changes in the data base (which is in the memory of the PDA) and finally, when the program closes, it saves all data (which are in the data base) in the xml file. My question is: is there any way to save only the modifications instead of to save again all data...

I am experiencing difficulty access a mapped network drive in an ASP.NET application. While using the .Net framework v 1.1 implementation of System.IO.Directory.Exists(), it fails to recognize a mapped network drive. This is true if the path specified uses a mapped drive letter or is expressed as a UNC address. I have also tried the drive letter and UNC paths with and without trailing backslashes, respectively.

I have 3 choices Database, Local Database, Web service and Object. 4. I choose Database, click next and get...

I am using: Application.ThreadException += new System.Threading.ThreadExceptionEventHandler(Application_ThreadException); But, my function is not run when an exception is thrown on another computer running WinXP SP2, and I have no idea why. Instead, the Windows error report screen appears. Isn't the above supposed to work no matter what? What am I doing wrong?

Hi, kindly guide me on how to solve this security problem. i set a passord to the data base and seems to work well. but since several people use the data base and know the passord, i think its risky. infact because i cant hide tables or data base forms using these option. 2. i decided to use user level security wizard and it looked like the best solution untill i copied the data base to another machine and opened it. the data base opened...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
