Limitations of Today

Welll.... i think technology is reaching a limit at the moment ............... ...(well will do someday)....... .(Unfortunately )

I think for Successfull and major improvement today ......(This is just my opinion) ........we need to move beyond......... .Binary
This i think depends on how we store data.....any new system has to be able to be stored on data storring devices.....The rfore ........Does anybody have new ideas as to how data can be stored? Besides in binary...

I just wanted to ask whether anybody has any ideas as to where the future lies........ and how we as a programming community can influence it through our knowledge.....a nd if anybody has anyideas on how binary might be replaced.......

IMAGINATION is JUST AS IMPORTANT AS KNOWLEDGE AND VISE VERSA

Binary or not binary is not the problem. Binary based arithmetic and representation of numbers is meaningless to a computer. All mathematical models can be converted to a different base so changing the base gets you nothing.

However I did see an interesting show on some research being done into quantum computing where each bit would have three states, ON/OFF/NEUTRAL. That could be fun!

ON/OFF/Neutral
Does neutral stand for both on and off.......or niether.......
See already the capabilities have increased...... by moving slightly away from binary.....

I am about to introduce my company to Solidworks. What are the limitations of the 30 day evaluation copy? I had planned on getting the eval from my VAR, then doing a very small prototype project in it to show them how cool Solidworks is. Can I then re-use this work in the real version when I convince them (hopefully) to buy it? Are there any limitations on the eval copy I should be aware of? Can I open old models I created a couple...

Why is it, Microsoft manage to write operating systems and office applications with every bell and whistle facility known to man. Yet, even after years and years of development they still cannot produce a decent version of MS SQL Server, one without a plethora of flaws and limitations? Personally I'd sack the MS SQL Server Chief Architect, start addressing some fundementals and do what MS do best - copy the best functionality of their...

Hiya. My CEO wants me to think about the direction the company's product should take. He has a bunch of guys offshore that develop with .NET, and he is keen to use them to build our product completely in a WAPI environment, completely web based. Presently we are using citrix to serve our clients a product that is developed in house using proprietry language, with a backend that is running on Linux using C-Isam (soon to be...

Quick question, does anyone know what the limitations are, besides memory for GMP, and also, if I write software that uses this library, is it true that it may run differently on different hardware classes of machines ? In other words, the same calculation on 1 machine would have a different result than another machine would have .. Thanks ! Jack

Hi, I am relatively new to dotnet and have heard great things about form validation and how easy it is. While I can see some improvements compared with classic asp I am a bit disappointed at how inflexible it seems. The requirement I have is that when form fields contain invalid data, ie not filled in, incorrect date etc, the background color of the form field must be set to red until the data is valid. After playing around with the...

Hi, I've recently encountered some design problems due to the language limitations of C#. Here are the scenarios: 1. Suppose I have a numerous number of functions that I would like to add an optional parameter to. Since C# does not support optional parameters, I would have to duplicate all these functions and override each of them with another parameter. Is this really necessary?? Is it

I've a SQL 2005 with a certain number of db. Until today i was the only admin of all dbs. Now i need to give to another admin permission to manage one specific db (but only that). Ho censito un utente di sql con accessi abilitati solo a quel db. If i connect to Enterprise manager with that limited login there is a problem: i see (only see) all dbs, also db where this login is not autorized. How can i work for not permitting this login to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
