Hi All,
I want to know which language is better to learn?
Whether Perl or python or Tcl/Tk?
WHich has more enhanced features?
What is good in what?
whether perl/Tk is better or Tcl/Tk?

The Perl guys will say Perl.
The Python guys will say Python.
The C++ guys will say C++.
It all depends on what you want to do. Sometime it depends on what OS you will be using.
Programming languages do not exist in a vaccuum. There is a reason why they were developed. If your reasons match their reasons, then that's the language to learn.
I will say that unless you work in a language ona consistent basis, you will forget it. Therefore, try to pick a language that you arel likely to use.

Yeah. PHP is better than all of those :P
Seriously, though, better to learn for what? You'll have a harder time with TCL if you want to write web applications, for example.

I know both are pretty much the same and it comes down to personal choice.
But I have to make the choice for the team. Things so far that I am
considering
1. XML documentation in C# -- thats good.. not there in VB.net??
2. Some language features of VB.Net like Redim(makes it easier for
developers), but not good enough reason.
3. C# is...

i've been researching this issue for a while and can't come to any conclusive
answer, mostly it seems to be a preference over syntax, some saying c# is
elegant while vb is clunky, or that c# is geeky while vb is more naturally
legible. there dont seem to be many capabilities in one over the other, at
least with whidbey, so basically, is there...

Hi everyone,
I have a dilemma and I hope you could bring me some guidelines
I want to develop some in-house software(s) at my work, to save everyone
time and energy spent on the wrong repetitive tasks. To do so I have start
learning a programming language, and the options seem endless.
Java, C, C++, VB, C#, Delphi, etc... I'm receiving...

Hi,
I know that I'm an extreme newb by asking this overly beaten question,
but I am leaning toward C#, becuase the perception is that it is better
to learn than VB.Net. I guess it makes you cooler.:-)
Anyhow, I am a novice programmer, and I will remain one as well...I have
no plans to make programming my life ambition, but I think that it...

Hi.
(Xposted to both comp.lang.c++ and comp.programming since I've got
questions related to both C++ language and general programming)
I've got the following C++ code. The first routine runs in like 65% of
the time of the second routine. Yet both do the same thing. However,
the second one seems better in terms of the way the code is written...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
