I'm starting to get frustrated with the mysql licensing model.
I was pushed into moving some of my companie's databases to it under
the impression that it was 'free' as in free beer and free speech, as
long as I didn't embed their engine into some application of mine.
So great I though, I don't want to 'embed' anything anywhere, I don't...

Hi,
After looking up Microsoft's site for licensing info...and found nothing,
I turn to this newsgroup. Does someone know what version of VB .Net you are
entitled to use when you are
a micro business? I think I can't buy a VB .Net standard edition but I'm not
sure about it.
Also if I need to buy VB .Net Enterprise, how many licenses come...

Yes, I know you've seen the above subject before, so please be gentle with
the flamethrowers.
I'm preparing to enter a discussion with management at my company
regarding going forward as either a MySql shop or a Postgresql shop.

Hi,
I was speaking to somebody about a project yesterday regarding writing a
small web app for him.
He suggested ASP, and I of course suggest ASP.NET. He rejected the idea due
to licensing and cost etc... I told him the .NET framework is free and as
long as he's got a licensed version of any of the Windows Server products
with IIS he...

i had the pleasure to read the PHP's manual today.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...
