Inverting a 10x10 antisymmetric matrix

1 New Member
Hi I want to invert a 10x10 antisymmetric matrix around 40000 times. Is there a faster way to implement it than to use the in-built inverse function in numpy?

Thanks!

Okay, Superbowl is only a few days away, but I thought it would be cool to set up an online registration for a football squares pool. My thoughts are to have people go into anywhere on the 10x10 matrix and put their name in. If someone already has put their name in a square, then the text input box is now static (i.e. cant be overwritten)... Only problem - I'm not sure how to do this. I'd plan on using an

Hi all, I am writing a template matrix class in which the template parameters are the number of rows and number of columns. There are a number of reasons why this is an appropriate tradeoff for my particular application. One of the advantages is that the _compiler_ can force inner matrix dimensions used in multiplication to agree. A _complie-time_ error will be triggered if you write A * B and the number of coluns in A does not equal the...

One issue I've had is successfully searching for regular expression documentation outlining the approach to inverting the test (ie. returning true in the case that the expression is not found). Searching google using keywords such as "invert", "not equal" or even "invalid file extension" along with "regular expressions" do not seem to point to any solid explanations/examples. I would like to have used the regularexpressionvalidator...

I've posted a simple Matrix class on my website as a small-footprint package for doing basic calculations on matrices up to about 10x10 in size (no theoretical limit, but performance on inverse is exponential). Includes: - trace - transpose - conjugate - determinant - inverse - eigenvectors/values (for symmetric matrices)

Hi dear all, I am using Python2.4.2+NumPy1.0.1 to deal with a parameter estimation problem with the least square methods. During the calculations, I use NumPy package to deal with matrix operations, mostly matrix inversion and trasposition. The dimentions of the matrices used are about 29x19,19x19 and 29x29. During the calculation, I noticed an apparent error of inverion of a 19x19 matrix. Denote this matrix as KK, U=KK^ -1, I found...

Below is a module (matrix.py) with a class to implement some basic matrix operations on a 2D list. Some things puzzle me about the best way to do this (please don't refer to scipy, numpy and numeric because this is a personal programming exercise for me in creating an operational class in pure python for some *basic* matrix operations). 1. Please take a look at the __init__ function and comment on the initialization of the list data...

Hello everyone. I'm writing a program which uses a class called matrix. I have written all of the different functions, constructor, etc. When I run the program I receive "Constructor", which I placed in the constructor, and then the program crashes. I have no clue where my problem is. The matrix is for size 2x2 up to 10x10, and it must be square. Below is the code: #include <iostream>

Hello all.. I wrote code in C to invert n x n matrices, where 1<n<39 and the matrices are guaranteed to be invertible. Prior to this task, I haven't really seen linear algebra since my sophmore year of undergrad, but I believe my algorithm implements Gaussian elimination. I append an identity matrix to the right of the one I wish to invert, use row addition to first turn the lower matrix to zeroes and then turn the upper matrix to zeroes, and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
