I'd like to dynamically find and invoke a method in a Python CGI.
In javascript, the running script is 'this' (Python's 'self'), except
that 'self' is not defined.
I want to do this:
var m = this; //where the method name is passed via an
http variable
m(); //this invokes a method in javascript

I have written an application that manipulates files, while doing so the
program is running in a loop and any actions on the GUI will not get any
response. When I try to stop the processing of the files trough the GUI by
clicking on a button this will not be done.
The action connected to the stop-button is to set a boolean to "true"
in the loop which processes the files I check contiuously for the boolean
becomming true and if so exit...

How to I capture stdout output from a system call and pipe it back into my running script?
system "echo foobar";
# how to continue here with "foobar" in stdin ??
...
I can fake it with pipes and additional scripts, but that seems like overkill.

Hey,
I have a problem with a small program that I want to make. It's a script that keeps running by using a Do While loop. I want to stop the script when a certain key is pressed. But the problem is that the keypress sub isn't working because the other sub keeps running. Is there a way of doing this, or is there someone who knows how to replace the do while with the use of a timer or someting, so that I can make a pause between every run of...

I am very new to Python I'm trying to run a python script from within another python script. I can run the script from a unix command line by typing: nohup python script.py password > /tmp/outfile.log 2>&1 & Or, I can put that command in a shell script and run it by typing: ./script.sh Both work great. However I don't know how to put either the command or the shell script in a python.py script and get it to run from there.
Let me...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
