I'm having a serialization problem. I have a dll, and one
of its classes can get serialized. but the dll and the
calling exe dont reside in the same folder or subfolder.
so serialization works fine and a file can be saved to the
hard drive. but deserialization blows chunks, because the
exe is looking in its own folder, or one of its sub
folders, for the dll, and the dll is in a totally seperate
folder.

Hello Everybody,
Is there a class equivalent to DirectoryInfo and FileInfo where I can
pass a http:// URL instead of a network path in order to find the
youngest file within an Intranet Folder.
I'm using this for FileShares:
DirectoryInfo di = new DirectoryInfo(strURL);
FileInfo fileList = di.GetFiles(strPattern);
and then I compare the LastWriteTime of all the files in the array.

Hi
I have a Windows WebControl on my form and I plan to burn the application to
a CD. The applcation has to navigate to a page that I am keeping in the
root of the CD. I have put the page I want to navigate to in the bin folder
along with the exe.
I then put the following line in the load of my application:
Me.webControl.Navigate(".\summarypage.html")

I'm attempting to make my first program that involves file input, but I'm running into problems finding the .txt file.
I placed the file inside the same folder as the rest of the project, but it still doesn't seem to be finding it. Am I doing something wrong?
try
{
in = new Scanner(new File("File Reading.txt"));
String test = in.nextLine();

Hi there.
I have a folder within my asp.net (c#) project in VS2008 called Files. Within this folder is a text file called files.txt.
Is there a way to access this folder from the C# code please?
What I am looking for is to invoke a StreamReader (or other suitable reader) and read in the contents of this folder, so to populate string values in the code.
An example of the code would look something like:

When we compile java program it creates .class file which is created in the same folder in which the source program is. Is there any mechanism by which, when we compile the source code then .class file is redirected to another folder.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
