Hi --
Some time ago I attended a course (run by Island Training I think) where
the instructor used some 'written in python' to project a
slideshow/presentation over a network onto multiple laptops simultaneously -
so each attendee could follow the course. As I recall it included basic
animation as well as the standard text bullet points.
I've looked at the usual sources (freshmeat et al) and can't find anything
like this, does this...

Hello,
I am currently studying how to embedd python. I am developing a
graphical C++ application. My goal is to embedd python script that will
control some kind of animation.
I have some questions about python embedding:
1) Is there a good text book or other resource on embedding/extending?
(I find it hard to learn only by the tutorial and C/Python API from the
python.org site)

Can anyone provide me with advice on how easy (or otherwise) it is to
drive a Flash animation (stored locally but displaed in a browser) with
a Python application. Basically information is getting streamed to a
Python client and this is expected to update the Flash animation.
It sounds odd, but it has to be done.
Thanks,
Rod

My application has a lot of complicated SQL statements, calculations,
processing that takes time. I've created a custom form to act like a
messagebox. It has 10 small rectangles on it that change color sequentially
to let the user know that processing is occurring. This 'animation' occurs
via the form timer event.
However, I'm having trouble getting the animation to occur for all types of
processing events. It appears that I have to...

Hi,
I get the following:
hvr@LINUXBOXMicrocorp:~/Controller/libpython display.py
UpdateStringProc should not be invoked for type font
Aborted
and I am back at the bash prompt - this is most frustrating, as there is no
friendly traceback to help me guess where its coming from.

I need to draw a shaded rectangle and have flashing (gif animated)
points on it
so not to refresh all objects a rectangle, but points, changing their
colors, attributes.
Please refer me to some basic Python code for animation like that .

Most applications, including Windows Explorer, show some sort of
'wait' dialog with animation when a lengthy operation is going on. For
example, When the Windows Explorer is searching for something, it
shows a small dialog with a moving flashlight. I examined the
explorer.exe and found that that was an avi file.
Now that, I would like to do similar thing in my C# application. But
what is the most efficient way to do so?
1)Manually...

I have been using Python for a short time and I find it a very flexible
language, and easy to learn and use. I have also worked some with PyGame
and used it to create a simple animation that is controlled by the mouse
and keyboard. The animation is designed to move filled circles around on
the screen and is driven by a data file that defines (indirectly), the
next relative position of each circle. And for my purposes (queueing
demo in the...

Although it's in alfa stage, I'm using parts of it as a regular tool
already.
I'm looking for practical application so maybe we could work something out.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
