Hi,
I have a WorkUnit class. I will pass a reference to a group of these
WorkUnits to other classes in my application. I have chosen to use a
vector to hold pointers to these WorkUnits for now.
However, I think that I should hide the fact that it's a vector in case
I want to switch to another container class at a later date. I don't
want every class that needs to use the group of WorkUnits to be too
tightly bound to the details of the...

hi, there
I build a Class Library, I write a class A to implement interface IA. The
problem is when I give the dll file to others, thet can get all information
about not only IA, but also A. They can even see my protected members of
class A. How could I hide these informations about class A, just give them
the interface informations.
thanks.

I do not understand what is meant when someone states that a given method is
"hidden" verses overriden.
Would someone please provide a short example of both cases and why you might
want to "hide" a parent method's implementation verses simply overriding it
(ie take advantage of polymorphism)?
Thanks,
TJ

Hello, I would like to know how to make the methods of an interface
inaccessible from outside
Example:
----------------------------------------------
internal Interface ImyInterface
{
void MyPrivateMethod(); // I cant define any accessibility here, well
ok !
}

There is a baseclass A. B is its subclass.
I want to hide class B. All operations to B are all by means of virtual
functions in A.
Class users can only see class A. B is transparent to them.
How can I do this?

Hi,
I was reading effictive C++ and some other books again and they all tell
you about hiding implementation details (proxy/pimpl/inheritance) but
they never really explain when to use it.
I am starting on a new project which is part library so I think it would
be good to hide the implementation for the public classes in the library
but this seems a lot of overhead to me (both when developing and runtime
overhead).

I don't see the purpose of explicit interface implementation other
than to hide its signature in the class that implements it, and,
instead, write your own, perhaps with a different signature,
implementation. Also, if you implement more than two interfaces with
the same method, which is rarity in practice or so it seems. To me
it appears a shallow end... Am I missing something?
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
