This really should only take a few minutes for somebody who has done
this in CherryPy before and I would certainly appreciate the assistance
because it doesn't seem covered in any documentation that i could find.
Whats wrong with this page?

I have just recently discovered CherryPy and Kid (many kudos to the respective developers!) and am tinkering with them to see what I can come up with. The application I eventually want to write will eventually require the python code to call stored procedures in a database which means I'll need to run CherryPy with a threadPool so individual database calls don't block the whole server. I'm not to that point yet, I'm just getting a...

I've been trying to get my CherryPy server to authenticate users against our network. I've managed to cobble together a simple function that uses our LDAP server to validate the username and password entered by the user: # ldap.py from win32com.client import GetObject ADS_SECURE_AUTHENTICATION = 1

At first I was not certain what could cause Access 97 from displaying most jpeg images, but not all. After further testing, it seemed that all original images of less than 275 pixels per inch or less would display, but those close to 300 pixels/inch or greater would not (MS Access cannot recognize the file format xxx.jpg). The larger, original images were scanned and saved as .bmp (at 300 dpi producing a 15MB file). Then the images were...

Hello, I'm wondering whats the best method to use for displaying several photos' thumbnails. One method I know is to dynamically resize the photo at the time the page is loaded. What does this do to server/site performance? The other is to copy the photo at time of upload and create a thumbnail then, have two separate images, therefor when displaying its just pulling the actual image. What do you think??

Hi Again, Throwing this one out to you again as i am not getting anywhere and can find little to no information out there. I am currently displaying images (Jpegs) in access via the routine set up in the article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285820/en-us. It works fine if the image is under 1000x1000 pixels. It is set up so the user can double click to open the image in its host application.

I have been to the main python site, but am still confused. I have been using .net, so it may be obvious how to do this to everyone else. I am aware there are various frameworks (Django, Pylons, etc.), but I would like to know how to create web pages without these. If I have mod_python or fastcgi on apache, where do I start? I don't have clue where to begin to create a web page from scratch in python. I am sure I will want to access...

Hi all, I have a very simple question about configuration under CherryPy - it is such a simple one but I have been struggling to find an answer for a few days. All I want is a sample configuration file that will allow me to display a page with a jpeg on it. Whilst there are some examples in the CherryPy examples, they are mixed

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
