mysql-python is probably your best bet for MySQL databases
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mysql-python/

As far as tutorials are concerned, the presentation linked in this
page is very good, given by the creator of the interface Andy Dustman:
http://bogdan.org.ua/2007/09/07/mysq...-examples.html
(scroll down to page 7 for the stuff on MySQL).

Hi to all I have to choose a DBMS and a database architecture for an Ebay like website about to be launched. The company wants to use a web hosting service and not host the database on dedicated servers at the office. The database will contain web-only information and lots of back end information that is not really needed to be stored on the web host.

Hi, Some of our customers have remote offices. I was wondering if it'd be safe to have a DBMS running at their central office, and have our client application running on hosts in the branches connect to it through a VPN via the Net? What happens if the connection goes south while a branch office was making changes? Does the DBMS just rollbacks changes automatically after a time-out?

.. Can you define the Character Set for particular tables instead of databases? . Which DBMSs would let you do that? . How do you store in a DBMS i18n'ed users' from input, coming over the web (basically from everywhere) store it and properly serve it back to users, . . .? . Can you point me to info on this? I would preferably use Java/JDBC drivers.

Hi, I am trying to connect a MS SSIS package to an AS400/DB2 database, and I experience problem when I hit the "Create Package" button in the "Data Link properties window". I have understood that the packages need to be created, before I can run any SQL on the DB2 base via SSIS(?). Here are the steps that I have done before the problem arise: 1. In MS Visual Studios, I created a new project of type "Integration Services". 2. On the...

Hello, My new semester has started and I have a subject named DBMS (Database Management System). This is the first time I'm studying databases and so I'm not feeling very enthusiastic about databases (partly because I already had learnt C/C++ and I feel that programming is a lot easier that DBMS). Nevertheless, I must learn at least one DBMS as it is part of my college course. I'm confused and I want some suggestions: Que-1: There are a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
