Maybe a very newbie question but:
I'd like to write a prog which reads one line at a time on its sys.stdin
and immediately processes it.
If there are'nt any new lines wait (block on input).
I couldn't find a solution for it.
Several methods that doesn't fit here:
- reading the entire file-like object until EOF and then process

I have Python embedded with my other code, and when my other code opens
a console and redirects stdout, stdin and stderr to it, then calls
PyRun_InteractiveLoop, it immediately returns with an EOF.
After some debugging the reason for this appears to be that the stdin
and stdout that the ReadLine function in the tokeniser include are not
affected by my redirection and refer to a non-terminal so don't stall
waiting for input from my...

Hello,
I've got a program that (ideally) perpetually monitors sys.stdin for
lines of text. As soon as a line comes in, my program takes some
action.
The problem is, it seems like a very large amount of data must
accumulate on sys.stdin before even my first invocation of readline()
returns. This delay prevents my program from being responsive in the
way it must be.

I want to read and write unicode on stdin and stdout. I can't seem to
find any way to force sys.stdin.encoding and sys.stdout.encoding to be
utf-8, so I've got the following workaround:
import codecs, sys
out = codecs.getwriter("utf-8")(sys.stdout)
def tricky(): return sys.stdin.readline().decode("utf-8").

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
