Hello
I have a bunch of questions about using python scripting in vim and
about editing python with vim.
I can install vim with python scripting support, but I can not find
docs, examples or tutorials about scripting vim using python anywhere
with google.

Bye Bye Billy Bob...
Hello All,
I'm a fairly literate windoz amateur programmer mostly in visual basic. I
have switched to SuSE 9.2 Pro and am trying to quickly come up to speed
with Python 2.3.4. I can run three or four line scripts from the command
line but have not been able to execute a script from a file.
I have used EMACS and JEDIT to create small test routines. I would right
click the file and set properties to executable. I...

For unfortunate reasons, I'm considering switching back to Win XP
(from OS X) as my "main" system. Windows has so many annoyances that
I can only compare it to driving in the Bay Area at rush hour (OS X
is like driving in Portland at rush hour--not as bad, but getting
there), but there are really only a couple of things that are really,
absolutely preventing me from making the switch. Number one is the
lack of a decent command line and...

I would like to find out how I can launch an independent Python
program from existing one in a cross-platform way. The result I am
after is that a new terminal window should open (for io independent of
the original script).
The following seems to work correctly under Ubuntu and Windows ... but
I haven't been able to find a way to make it work under Mac OS.
def exec_external(code, path):

Hi,
I am new to Python and non-web programming. I am using pySerial in OSX 10.5.2 (Python 2.5) to access a bluetooth module that is mapped to a device file.
I can access the device with screen /dev/tty.BTdevice 115200 and I correctly get a stream of 3 digit numbers (data from a sensor). I wrote a Python script to read the numbers and print them.
My problem comes when I have a bug in my program or I don't close the serial object in the...

Hi,
I am running Python and a script on XP DOS terminal, the script
build.py printed out messages on the Terminal, then asked for an input
of numbers. But, I pressed a key, nothing came in DOS terminal,
Eventually, no key active and seem the DOS terminal is freezed. I
could not even terminate the terminal by Ctrl-C or Ctrl-D. The same
script was running fine on linux or Cygwin terminals. Any thoughts
what was the problem?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
