Hello. I recently came across a free operating system called Unununium (or something like that) and it was developed in Python and Assembly. Now, I have been looking for a way to make an operating system for a long long time and the only possibilities I could find were C++ and assembly. I don't mind assembly so much if I don't have to use it very often. But C++ is so complicated and errors are pretty much impossible to find in the code...

Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but I am in the process of trying to find a Web Hosting/Isp Billing system that is reasonable in price and uses Access or SQL Server for a backend DB. I have found a couple that seem to do what I want, but are using FILEMAKER for their DB. Looking for something that will handle reoccuring billing as well as per project billing. Keeping up with client info, etc.... Also needs to...

Hello, I'm looking for any work/paper/ressource about continuous system simulation using Python or any similar object oriented languages (or even UML theory !). I'm aware of SimPy for discrete event simulation, but I haven't found any work about continuous system. I would like to develop a generic continous system simulator, and so would be eager to join any open source effort on the subject.

I'm trying to build a database that will handle the monthly billing needs of a small company. I'm charting everything out and here's what I see: table for customers sub table to track payments received. No biggie, right? Well, here's my problem. I don't know how to tell access to modify everyone's account balance each month. And I can't just always assume that their monthly bill is $16 just because their balance is $16. If I do that...

Hello, Currently, I'm finding a way to build a system that is billing to any web access end-user. If they new a session to web server, then start to charge, and if they close the browser, then end this charge. As everybody know that web server is stateless and hard to detect browse close behaviour. Is there any wise way to do so? I have tried to log all the sessionid in a array in global.asax, and any one of web page aspx add a <meta...

Although I know for a fact that an Operating System can be written in Python, I need to ask some questions to the more advanced users of Python. Uuu and Cleese are two operating systems that were / are written in Python. Does anyone use them? If so, how do they function / feel? Do they have a graphical mode and a command line mode, such as Linux does? How hard would it be to write a full blown bootable operating system in Python? With...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
