I'm trying to build a Psyco rpm on Fedora 1. I try the command
xpc5:~/psyco-1.1.1> python setup.py bdist_rpm
this fails with:

Hi,
I run an ubuntu hoary linux. I have psyco installed as apt-get says, but
when I launch python and try "import psyco" it does not find. I have tried
"locate psyco" to find its source or compiled version without success. Is
this a known bug in the python2.4-psyco debian package?

Hi All;
I have Psyco (on Windows XP) and now I want to install it on Linux, too.
I FTP'd the tarball (tar.gz) from Psyco's site but can't get it compiled.
First, I tried the usual "python setup.py install" but that did not work.
I later found a RPM for Psyco but it wasn't suitable to the Linux version
I'm currently using.
Has any of you had a similar experience? If so, how did you manage

I haven't used an IDE in a long time but gave wing ide a try because
I wanted the same development platform on Linux and Windows.
I'm currently using Ultraedit and it works fine but needed something
more portable as I'm moving my main platform over to Ubuntu. I first
tried jedit and was reasonably happy with it but it felt slow and it
did not have a native look and feel to it. It was really hard on the
eyes.

I'm not seeing much benefit from psyco (only 5-10% faster). Maybe this
example is too trivial? Can someone give me some pointers as to what
