Is there a Tkinter widget like Scale with two sliders?

Hi,
I'm looking for a Scale like Tkinter widget that has two sliders, so
that the user can select both the upper and lower bound of some
dataset.
Much like the widgets used in spotfire: http://wiserways.com/images/2004-02-...o_spotfire.jpg
(see the widgets on the right of the picture)
Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have a small Tkinter app that gets data from a socket connection to a "server". The app has a Text() widget to display the info that it gets from the socket connection. I have the ability to stop the text at any point. What I want to be able todo is select a line from the Text() window and double click or whatever on it to open a new window with that selected text as a paramater to the new window.

Some time ago I wrote a little program in Tcl/Tk that took the values from 3 sliders and performed a calculation using these values. The calculation was of course automatically repeated each time a slider was moved. It is proving most difficult in Python. How do I pass the .get() values to my calculating function? Do I use the command option for each slider? e.g command = Calc(a.get()). Obviously not cos it doesn't work. I am not a...

Hi, I'm in the process of writing some code and noticed a strange problem while doing so. I'm working with PythonWin 210 built for Python 2.5. I noticed the problem for the last py file processed by this script, where the concerned tmp file is only actually written to when PythonWin is closed. In other words, after I run this script, one of the generated tmp files has a size of 0kB. I then close PythonWin and it is then written to.

I am writing a simple (maybe a bit conveluded, but I just started learning Tkinter) program that uses a 'notebook' code snippet from a python cookbook. It creates a customizable frame and radio button for each 'tab' and uses .forget to hide the frames that aren't 'current'. I modified it to use a Scale slider bar instead of radio buttons. What my program does is create a parent notebook object, and in each notebook frame, child...

Not sure if this question belongs here, so sorry if it doesn't. amature programmer here, trying making a media scale widget (like the one in windows media player) for a media player type program (like windows media player). The problem is that i use a dictionary like this to let the scale know where it needs to be at any point in the song: def create_mapdic(): mapdic={} for i in range(0, length_of_song): ...

I've tried quite a few things to get this correct but have hit a couple of sticking points that I can't figure out. I need to ge the Text box to function like the 'wraplength' option in a Label. I've been able to adjust the height of the text by calculating the number of lines needed to display the text. That's fairly simple. I know the number of characters in the text and width of the box (which is static). From that point I can...

On 10/29/08, Olrik Lenstra <o.lenstra@gmail.comwrote: It will be a combination of commands, not a single one. Initially I considered this as "probably without solution", since tcl acquired a yield command just in the 8.6a3 release, but then I looked at wx.SafeYield code and apparently it is possible to replicate it. Here is an initial cut, it is very possible to contain something not equivalent to wx.SafeYield (besides it could be...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
