Hi
I am posting this on both the perl and python groups
My intention is not to start a war or anything else, I would just like
some pragmatic advice.
My apologies to the python group I am not very conversant with Python at
this stage. that could change soon though.

Man, I've been banging my head against a C program for a while now.
I'm embarrassed to admit how long. I really want to use Python, as I
mentioned in a prior post, but the speed hit is such that I'll
probably use it only for prototyping.
But boy, development sure is fast in Python! Today, while playing with
it, I thought of a better way to arrange my data, that makes the
program more flexible. It's a good enough idea to warrant redoing...

Hey everybody,
While I'm not absolutely positive, it looks like Python still doesn't
have any official mascot or logo. Hence, here's something I came up with
yesterday. Its by no means a final version, but rather just a draft to
show an idea. Here's a link to png file.

I haven't came up with the name for that guy yet, so I'm leaving that

I have a problem when using the python script found here:
http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Cookbook/Python/Recipe/360649
It is a script to remotely shutdown a windows computer. When I use it,
the computer shuts down, but doesn't power off like with a regular
shutdown. It stays on the "Safe to power off" screen and I have to push
the power button to actually power off. Anyone know why this happens
with this script? Thanks for any...

Introduction:
I recently came across this job posting in the forums. It has an interesting brain teaser as a requirement for applying. The brain teaser was stated as: "What is the exponent of the largest power of two whose base seven representation doesn't contain three...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
