I've been looking for a nice python editor for a while. I was using a great
general purpose editor called EditPlus. It did the job pretty good....
I've now downloaded Eclipse with the TruStudio plug-ins from www.xored.com
and it's great!
i had to share that with you

Hello
I am probably going to start a war now... but so be it :)
I just want to hear what all you guys who eat pythons for breakfast use
for python coding. Currently I use Kate, but I would really like an IDE
with debugger and a source browser (ie. one the I can use to browse
through modules etc. when looking for just the right curses stuff and such
- I am a newcomer to Python).

I would like to debug my python libraries, written in c++, with GDB
(gnu debugger)
I'm using the mingw compiler in a windows environment. As development
environment I use eclipse with the CDT plugin. This plugin also has a
nice GUI frontend for the GDB.
I've already tried several setups, no setup seemed to work.

I've been trying to use Eclipse with Python on Linux for a
while and have noticed something odd. After running the
code or debugging a few times, its responsiveness gets
really bad. Upon checking the equivalent of the task
manager, I find several instances of Python running. When I
kill these instances, the responsiveness comes back. I'm
not sure if there is a better place to post this, but it is
Python related. Is this just an issue...

I am back against the wall trying to migrate my multithreaded
application from Python 2.3 to 2.5. The part of the code that's
failing has to do with queues (2.3 queues and 2.5 queues are not the
same). Since WingIDE doesn't support multithread debugging (they've
been saying that one day they might support that - and that was 2003),
I am starting to look for alternatives.
debug under Eclipse/Pydev. I did a google search of this...

Eclipse is just not really working on linux 64 bit
(I tried ubuntu and centos, it is freesing and crashing
and extremly slow)
I use eclipse for python and cvs, what is "the" good alternative ?

this is actually a question to those of us who use Eclipse and Pydev
as their main Python developing environment. As i use Eclipse (3.3
Europa) only for Python and i have nothing to do with Java, is there a
way to disable/uninstall some Java-specific stuff and make the
environment actually more snappy ??

whitespace after the heredoc end delimiter, jeez!). But, debugging has been
a tortuous problem for me.
I'm developing PHP 5.2.4 applications in an Eclipse 3.1/phpEclipse 1.1.8 IDE

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
