My web site has not been spidered by Googlebot since April 2003. The site in
question is at www.TheBicyclingGuitarist.net/ I received much help from this
NG and the stylesheets NG when updating the code before then.
My host's tech guy just sent me the following. Isn't it okay to specify
UTF-8 as the charset in the HTTP headers at the server level? Isn't it okay
to have validated XHTML 1.0 strict code?

I'm using controls in my ASP.NET application from a couple of vendors.
Between the vendors and thier versioning, I've set up subfolders under my bin
directory:
bin
bin\Infragistics\v5.2
bin\RadControls\v5.3
Under 2.0b2, I had the following setup in my web.config:

Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to bind the header text of a GridView
column to a method of an object I have. At the moment I am setting the
header texts in Page_Load but I was wondering if I can do with databinding.
thanks

I have a Web service that gets the financial periods and hold a reference to
a disconnected dataset built at initialization. Web methods work on the
dataset inside the web service. Everything is fine so far.
My problem is that when I call a web method to modify the dataset inside the
Web service it is never updated and I get no errors.
currentPeriods method will always give me 1 even if I call ChangeDataset and
call currentPeriods...

does anyone know why i can't generate images with:
header("Content-type:image/jpeg");
imagejpeg($img_number);
i've tried different examples but i always get a text output as if the
header doesn't make a difference at all.
<?php

Hello,
when I send an email using the mail() function, I get a Runtime Notice:
date() : It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone
settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable
or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those
methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled
the timezone identifier. We selected 'Europe/Paris' for '2.0/DST' instead.

I have an application that processes MIME messages. It reads a message from a file,
looks for a text/html and text/plain parts in it, performs some processing on these
parts, and outputs the new message.
Ever since I recently upgraded my Python to 2.4.3, the output messages started to
come out garbled, as a block of junk characters.
I traced the problem back to a few lines that were removed from the email package:
The new Python no...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
