I want to have a config file for my program, which means I need to know
where the config file is. If I type:
java myclass
and it runs myclass.class, is there any way to obtain the location of the
file myclass.class? Will this work if it's run from a relative path, like:
java ../progs/myclass

Many of you are familiar with Jason Orendorff's path module
<http://www.jorendorff.com/articles/python/path/>, which is frequently
recommended here on c.l.p. I submitted an RFE to add it to the Python
standard library, and Reinhold Birkenfeld started a discussion on it in
python-dev
<http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-dev/2005-June/054438.html>.
The upshot of the discussion was that many python-dev'ers wanted path
added to the...

I have created a simple Windows service in VB.Net which installs fine
using InstallUtil.exe to install it to, for example "c:\test", or
"c:\Windows\YellowBanana", but if I install it to "c:\Program
Files\Test" it installs ok but will not start (no useful error message
is given other than the usual annoying suggestion about having
sufficient privileges).
The problem only seems to happen with spaces, not long filenames.
I have found a...

The problem started when the Working Folder for a project was somehow set to
the folder of another project. I set the correct working folder in VSS and
deleted the .vbproj files that had been created in the wrong folder on the
hard drive. Before I discovered these files, .NET kept trying to create a
new project with _1 following the project name. Deleting those files
corrected that problem.
I deleted the Virtual Directory, rebooted, and...

I am migrating from NT 4.0 (IIS 4) to 2003 Server (IIS 6). Our Intranet
has numerous applications that utilize the FileSystemObject (FSO) and
each one is returning a "Path not found." error. These applications
work fine on IIS 4. Here is the scenario:
- Mapped Drives on server to anotheer network Drive (I.E. - Q:\)
- IIS uses different Domain accounts for anonymous access (based on the
application).
- These domain accounts have all of...

I've got a .BAT file that I use for executing various MS Access apps that I
wrote way back in the days of 2.0.
It's evolved over time, but it still contains a number of possible paths to
MSACCESS.EXE, tries them all, takes the first one it finds, and dies if none is
found.
Seems to me like at some time or another I was able to clone this .BAT file and
implement it with no path. Something about MSACCESS being a registered
application.

I'm sorry if this is a rehash, but all I see is the same info.
Here's my debacle:
I CAN get the PATH_INFO to work. With ANYTHING but ASP. Python, Perl,
Cmd files... works fine. ASP can't find a file when extra path
information is added. Is there a switch in ASP or something I can
change that'll get it to work?
Thanks!

I think I don't understand how the module search path works...
Let's say I have a folders called 'test'. Underneath it, I create two
more folders called 'foo' and 'bar'.
In 'foo', I create an empty '__init__.py' file, indicating that this
folder is a package 'foo'. I then create a simple python script
'foo.py' consisting of the following code:

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
