I'm trying to send data over the serial port using PHP and Serproxy.
I downloaded Serproxy from
http://www.lspace.nildram.co.uk/freeware.html. From the manual page at
http://www.php.net/function.fopen I was able to find sample code using
Serproxy and directly opening the serial port. My application
requires the use of multiple serial ports on other computers so I'm
left with only Serproxy.

My program uses many millions of integers, and Python is allocating
way too much memory for these. I can't have the performance hit by
using disk, so I figured I'd write a C extension to define a new type.
Problem is, my C knowledge is years old and regardless of my
attempts distutils will not recognise my installation of the MS
compiler.

We have a network management system written in C++, MysQL, and Hp
SNMP. It works in Solaris command line. When I wrote a similar
python codes which call compiled C++ and mysql codes in solaris
command line, the comipled codes work fine in wraped python file. When
I change the python codes to web interface in python CGI script, I got

Hi,
I remembered reading a MSc thesis about compiling Perl to Java bytecodes
(as in java class files). At least, it seems that someone had compiled
scheme to java class files quite successfully. I'm wondering if
something of such had been attempted in python, as in compiling X
language into .pyc. I do not understand the schematics of .pyc files but
I assume that they are the so called python bytecode files.
