Python 2.5.1 - sqlite3.dll issue

A number of our Windows customers have an issue with the sqlite3 module
included with Python 2.5.1

We've tracked the problem down to the sqlite3.dll included with the Python
2.5.1 distrubtion. It is stripped and thus cannot be relocated. This
causes the following exception on computers where something is already
loaded into the address the sqlite3.dll wants to use:

File "sqlite3\__init __.pyc", line 24, in <module>
File "sqlite3\dbapi2 .pyc", line 27, in <module>
ImportError: DLL load failed: Invalid access to memory location.

I downloaded the latest sqlite3.dll from http://www.sqlite.org and this
fixes the problem. (This dll isn't stripped)

From the release notes I read that "If you're compiling the Python source yourself, note that the source tree doesn't include the SQLite code, only the wrapper module. You'll need to have the SQLite libraries and headers installed before compiling Python, and the build process will compile the module when the necessary headers are available." I do have SQLite3 installed on my system, but after doing a

Hello, I am using the Python DB API for access to MySQL. But it is not platform-independent - I need a module not included in Python by default - python-mysql, and it uses a compiled binary _mysql.so. So it is not platform-independent because for each web-server on different platform, I would have to download it and extra compile it specifically for that platform. Do you know of any Python solution for MySQL access that is 100%...

I installed the source code on unix for python 2.5.1. The install went mainly okay, except for some failures regarding: _ssl, _hashlib, _curses, _curses_panel. No errors regarding sqlite3. However, when I start python and do an import sqlite3 I get: /ptmp/bin/python Python 2.5.1 (r251:54863, May 29 2007, 05:19:30) on sunos5

On Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 9:51 PM, Joe Goldthwaite <joe@goldthwaites.comwrote: You need sqlite itself (www.sqlite.org) and bindings, pysqlite 2 (http://oss.itsystementwicklung.de/trac/pysqlite/) or aspw (http://code.google.com/p/apsw/) You are confused, yes. The sqlite3 package that comes with python2.5 is actually pysqlite2, which interfaces with sqlite3. Also, sqlite3 and sqlite2 files format are not compatible.

Thanks Guilherme. That helped. I guess I was thinking that pysqlite would automatically come with some version of sqlite. The fact that it doesn't is what was causing me to get the strange results. I downloaded the Windows version of the SQLite3.dll. I didn't know where to put it so I first put it in its own directory and tried to register it. That didn't work so I just moved it to the pysqlite directory in site-packages. That did...

Hi all, On a (sun) webserver that I use, there is python 2.5.1 installed. I'd like to use sqlite3 with this, however sqlite3 is not installed on the webserver. If I were able to compile sqlite using a sun machine (I normally use linux machines) and place this in my lunix home account would I be able to use python and sqlite? Any thoughts? I know its a bit of a stretch ...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
