I currently have Python 2.2 and 2.3.4 installed. I want to install Python 2.4,
and erase 2.3.4, but retain 2.2, for I need it for my connectivity program.
According to the the documentation:
If you have a previous installation of Python that you don't want to replace
yet, use
make altinstall

This has not yet been published by Microsoft. It will be published
within the next few weeks, mainly because I asked them to. I felt this
was information badly needed, and I think this is the best group to
share this information.
A co-worker and I were able to determine how to tell exactly what
version of .NET Framework is installed.
We...

But I can't seem to find the answer.
The question is how do you reverse the words in a string?
Or how do you reverse the numbers listed in a string?
The example is usually something like:
Turn this string "1,2,3,4,..."
Into "...4,3,2,1"
This one seems hard enough let alone trying to turn a string of
space-seperated words around(is that...

Please tell me if there's a better group to post this in--
I've been trying to get a MoinMoin installation up-and-running for the

installation.
So the basic MoinMoin install looks good--I can...

Hi,
I am pretty new to python and will use it mainly in
combination with scientific packages. I am running ubuntu

Do you have any suggestion, how I can get/keep the latest
python modules (e.g. scipy, numpy,...) on my ubuntu system?
I.e. does there exist any script/program, which...

I was just chating with a few webdevelopers and it was brought to my
attention that I need some type of server technology installed on my computer
so I could get a visual of how my sites would look on the web.
I'm completely new to the server technology stuff and don't need anything
expensive - only for testing purposes and so other web...

Can we open up the discussion here about how to improve setuptools
which has become the de facto standard for distributing / installing
python software. I've been playing around with ruby's gems which seems
to be more more mature and usable.
From my perspective, the relative immaturity of setuptools and its
simultaneous widespread use is a...

I've just bought an iMac (OS X 10.5.2, will almost immediately jump to
10.5.3), and am looking to install Python on it, and to use it with
XCode, Apple's IDE. Some googling suggests that a number of people
have had trouble getting Python to run satisfactorily on their Macs.
This is my first Mac, and I'd appreciate some guidance on what to do...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
