Well you can convert the number to a string:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. num = 2311150
  2. num = str(num)
  3. print len(num)
  4. #prints 7
  5.
There's probably a better way though.

Hi, I'm trying to figure out the most efficient method for taking the first character in a string (which will be a number), and use it as a variable to check to see if the other numbers in the string match that first number. I'm using this code for form validation of a telephone number. Previous records from the past few months show that when someone is just messing around on one of our forms (to waste our time), they type

hi there, recently i have got a problem regarding calculation of sum of digits in a floating point or precision number. the weird behaviour of compiler/language is preventing me from calculating the sum of all digits. the compiler doesnt store the number as given by the user. some of the precision digits are lost or changed (at will!). so by any method, i m unable to reliably calculate the sum of provided number; except i input the...

Trying to write a program that will figure out if a number is perfect or not. Here is my logic: 1) Read in the number 2) Split it up (number - 1) 3) Put all the split up numbers into an array 4) Figure out if the original number is evenly divisible by any of the numbers in the array.

Hello. Is there a method for computing the number of digits, in a given numeric base, of N factorial, without actually computing the factorial? For example, 8! has 5 digits in base 10; 10! has 7 digits in base 10. Is there a way to compute that information without actually evaluating the factorial?

Hello, I'm very new to C so please forgive my ineptitude. If I am given a file with "jfewuuj3uefi8jkw128jdmnsdf\s;'d1904" I want to capture each occurence of an integer 0-9 into an array. So in the array I would have {3,8,1,2,8,1,9,0,4}

Hi all, I want to know the precision (number of significant digits) of a float in a platform-independent manner. I have scoured through the docs but I can't find anything about it! At the moment I use this terrible substitute: FLOAT_PREC = repr(1.0/3).count('3')

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
