Pythonistas,
My loyal fans :-) will remember that I did a Python IDE roundup for
_Charming Python_ a couple years back. Now I have another such roundup
lined up... not the very next article, but it's there on the list.
In the intervening years, I've hardly touched anything one might call an
IDE. I've looked at screenshots from time to time, and read various
announcements. But really I just use text editors and command lines.

No joy on Macromedia's boards after a few days; maybe someone can help me
here.
I got an excellent string handling function off of planet-source-code.com
that converts text strings to proper case, i.e. "the REMAINS of the DAY" is
converted to "The Remains Of The Day".
This function is particularly good in that it handles certain exceptions.
Can you help me make it handle more? I'm interested in two tweaks, one easy,
one hard.

Please excuse the cross-post - I'm pretty sure I've had interest in the
article on all the groups this is posted to.
I've finally managed to finish my article on multi-threading - at least
for the moment. I'd be *very* grateful if people with any interest in
multi-threading would read it (even just bits of it - it's somewhat
long to go through the whole thing!) to check for accuracy,
effectiveness of examples, etc.

Do you think this could cause an effect such as a page with pulsating scroll bars? So bad that the mouse cannot pull the

I am trying to split up and secure a database that we've been using on
a network for a few years, following the procedure listed in Q304932
from microsoft.
I create a new blank database for the front end, and am able to import
tables and link from the backend. Queries come in ok too. When I

I ran into an interesting re-pain delay after calling the Abort() method on
a thread, but it only happens the very first time I call it. Every time
afterward, there is no delay.
I've got a delegate inside the UI that I call to update the progress meter.
I use the Suspend() and Abort() methods based on button events.
I can watch the progress meter increase just fine when the thread is
running. When I select Start, I enable the Cancel...
