My problem is about properties and the virtuality of the methods. I
would like to create a property whose get and set methods
are virtual. I had the same problems in Delphi before and the solution
was the same. I created a private _get method and a public
get method. The former one will call the latter. The same stands for
_set and set. Here is an example below:
class C1(object):
def namechanged(self):
"""Called after the name of the...

Owning your ideas: An essential tool for freedom
By Daniel Son
Thinking about going into business? Have an idea that you think will
change the world? What if you were told that there was no way you
could prevent someone from stealing your idea and exploiting it to make a profit? What
incentive would there be for you to be innovative, creative and
ambitious if you couldn’t be sure that your ideas would be protected?

October has arrived and the deadline for submitting a proposal to give a talk
at PyCon 2007 is October 31 (November 15 for tutorials). While it is a PyCon
tradition to wait until the last minute to flood us with submissions, I would
like to encourage presenters to start a bit earlier this year.
We have a new talk (not tutorial) submissions system which lets you interact
with your proposal online, rather than a fire-and-forget...

A client that I developed a database for about 5 years ago and continue to
do annual updates for has just requested "all intellectual property rights
related to the database". I believe he just wnat me to say "OK, here you go,
it's yours"
I have never come across this particular situation. We have a "reasonably"
good relationship. What should I do?

Thanks to all the proposal authors so far, we have received lots of
proposals for PyCon talks & tutorials. But we'd like to have even
more. Alas, the proposal submission deadline should have been set
after a weekend, not before. So we have decided to extend the proposal
submission deadline to Monday, November 19 at midnight (Chicago
time). This gives you a *whole extra weekend* to write up your talk
and tutorial ideas!
If you've been...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
