I just discovered Python and looked briefly at one of the tutorials
for beginners...
It looks a lot like the old Command line Basic... I'm sure it does
much more but...
1 - Can you create windows, buttons, user input fields, etc as you
can with Visual Basic?
2 - Can you call Windows Procedures or what ever they call them

Can anyone help me to use a python to create an HTML photo gallery
generator. When it's finished, it will be able find all the picture
files (i.e. .jpg, .gif. .png files) in any given folder on the
computer, automatically create smaller thumbnails for each image, and
then generate a complete HTML file that displays a clickable image
gallery. When viewed in a web browser, the HTML file will display the
thumbnails in a neatly formatted...

Hi
I've spent a good majority of my day trying to figure out how to have
PIL 1.1.5 working on my OSX 10.3.9_PPC machine. I'm still stuck and I
have not gotten anywhere. Could somebody please help me...
I've scoured all the documentation, google, and mailing lists to no
avail. I believe the problem may lay in a jpeglib problem with OSX
10.3.9, or a python paths problem.

Hey everybody,
I'm quite new to Python. I'm working on a webproject with Django and
need to install the Python Imaging Library. It worked fine under Mac OS
but when I try it on my Linux server. It gives me this error:
PasteBin Link: http://phpfi.com/179314
I don't really know what is wrong. Can somebody point me directions. I
really need the PIL to work.

Hello,
I'm working on an image processing project using the Python Imaging
Library along with numpy. Right now, I'm trying to build a speedy
script for converting whole images between the RGB and the HSV (a.k.a.
HSB) color spaces. Unfortunately, the code I've made so far runs
dreadfully slow with even moderate-sized images.
I'm under the impression that the crux of the problem is the fact that
PIL's point method operates on only one...

Ok I'm a Python noob, been doing OK so far, working on a data
conversion program and want to create some character image files from
an 8-bit ROM file.
Creating the image I've got down, I open the file and use TK to draw
the images... but
1) It does not seem to end (running in IDLE), I have to kill the
process to retry it seems tkinter does not close(?)

First, PIL is a great library, however, sometimes I do perhaps not work on my own computer, but rather some obscure computer with an old version of python, with an unknown unix/linux that I have to telnet to. However, I still might want to create some images for instance for no particular reason make a display hack
Below is a packed together routine, that creates an TGA image from an pixmap (i.e. a list that defines a bitmap) with an example...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
