One of the reasons I like python so much is that the standard
installation comes with a whole lot of libraries to do lots of useful
things but there seem to be a few things missing from the standard
library which would be useful in many projects:
Encryption - AES and 3DES. Possibly RSA and Certificate processing.
DNS - Something better than gethostbyaddr for looking up other record types.
Database - Something suitable for small projects...

BlankHi,
How do I create a tightly coupled Object 1 such that when I update it in one collection, it is simultaneously and automatically updated in other collections? The collections are defined at the module level for the entire project to access as well as collections defined within different objects. Currently, I'm updating Object 1 manually in all the different collections but there surely must be a better way.
Thanks!

I am using collections in my project and have come up against some
issues. My project is a web based thin client application.
The main issue I have is with collections, I have all the users
settings/permissions etc held in a collection which is in a module.
This enables the user to access their settings from page to page
without quering a database every time the page loads.
Administrators of the system can change users settings while...

I'm just wondering if anybody's seen a problem with their web server recently
that's similar to the following: about two weeks ago some clients on our
intranet started experiencing lost sessions - they would be automatically
redirected back to our default page when doing a normal "postback" (like
clicking a Save or a Search button).
After researching the logs, we saw HTTP POST lines with missing SESSIONID
entries. In fact, the HTTP...

I have a Windows Form application that monitors a directory using the
System.IO.FileSystemWatcher.
On the event created I run a sub that sends an xml file over http to a
service.
When I copy 7000 files in the directory to be monitored only 123 are sent to
the service.
What might be going wrong?

Hi all!
I am pretty sure this has been asked a couple of times, but I don't seem
to find it on the archives (Google seems to have a couple of problems
lately).
I am wondering what is the most pythonic way of dealing with missing
keys and default values.
According to my readings one can take the following approaches:

Hello,
I have a class of objects (Device) that are managed by another object
(Devices) with a collection class (DeviceCollection) inherited from
Collections.Hashtable. Each of the Device objects can raise an event and I
need the managing class (Devices) to be able to catch these events.
Public Class Device
Public Event StatusChange()

Hello all!
I have the following weird problem and since I am new to Python I somehow cannot figure out an elegant solution. The problem reduces to the following question:
How to pickle a collections.defaultdict object that has set the default_factory property?
For Example (from the IDLE console):
>>> words = collections.defaultdict(lambda: 1)
>>> f = file("temp","w")

Several languages like Java, C# etc have a List type in the std lib.
Python has a built-in list(), it's implemented as array dynamic on the
right.
Not too much time ago Hettinger has added a collections.deque (its C
code is really nice), that compared to list() allows a faster append
on the right and a much faster prepend on the left. It's implemented
as a double linked list of fixed-sized blocks. All blocks but the
first and last are...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
