PIL on Python 2.4 - ImportError: No module named _imagingft

Dear list members,

I have installed Python 2.4.3. and PIL 1.1.5. on a Suse Linux 10 64 Bit
machine.

If I try
>>import _imagingft
I get this error:
ImportError: No module named _imagingft

Did I miss something?
On my 32 But Linux with Python 2.3.5. everything works fine.

Kind regards,
Nico

I wrote a script that sends an smtp email. Here is the link that I found explaining how such a script could be written Sending an Email As you see it imports a module as follows: "import smtplib". I am using a linux machine (ubuntu ditro). It has both python2.5 and python2.4...

I am embedding Python in a MSVC++ (2005) application. The application creates some environment and then launches a Python script that will call some functions exported from the MSVC++ application. I want to be able to debug the Python script by using a debug server, like Winpdb (winpdb.org). I use ActivePython 2.5.2.2, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, and Winpdb 1.3.8.

You learn something new every day: On my ubuntu, update-manager is supposed to use the python2.5 installed on /usr/bin. Well, I had subsequently installed a whole bunch of stuff in /usr/local (/usr/local/bin/python and /usr/local/lib/ python2.5 etc), which I have happily been using for development for a year. I had thought that the two pythons were completely independent. Well, I was wrong. When /usr/bin/python2.5 runs, *by default*,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
