Hello,
Everything started with me wanting to write a little command line php
script that uses some gd functions. After a little research, I realized I
need to unccomment the line in my php.ini that references the gd module. I
did that, and still no gd (I get the error message at run time, that
imagecreatefromjpeg() doesn't exist). At first I thought that I changed the
wrong php.ini file, even though I changed the one in c:\windows, which...

Ok, I have a nice iface, I have a (hopefully) good user authentication, I
have a DB up-and-running, and I have PHP 4.3.4 (yeah, I know, I will
update...).
What I need is a logging utility. And the question is: where to keep the
logs?
We (me and my buddy) have written everything from scratch (including
sessions support) - in a quest to learn something useful. Now we need to
decide where to keep our logs?

I have a command button with the following code:
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmSearchAssignments", , , "SearchAssignmentID = 1"
(SearchAssignmentID is the PK, auto number)
When it runs, the form opens but shows all records, rather than going to the
one I want. If I look at the form in design view, it shows
'SearchAssignmentID=1' (without quotes) as the filter in the properties
list.
frmSearchAssignments is bound to a query qrySearchAssignments....

I'm trying to implement a licensing scheme. There are three types of
licenses:
Trial - good for 30 to 60 days
Interim - good for 1 year
Fully Paid - no expiration
Everything is working fine and I've even implemented a registration system
where the users can upgrade by just receiving a code from me.

Hi,
I am developing an application that needs to store some machine-specific
settings. The application is going to be published on the network in
order to keep the clients on the latest version.
Because of this, I am unable to store these settings in the App.Config
file, as this gets updated every time the application does, and there
doesn't appear to be a way of preventing this.
Most of my application settings are kept in the...

Hi all,
I am attempting to use Access97 as the database to hold the results of a
python script. I seem to be able to make simple SELECT clauses work (like
SELECT * FROM TableName), but have not been able to figure out how to add a
WHERE clause to that (e.g., SELECT * FROM TableName WHERE myFieldName = 34)
This fails complaining that the wrong number of parameters are present.
I haved tried DAO36 and I have tried the ADO version with the...

I want to open an XML file with my browser. The file contains the
following line:
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="/new.xsl"?>
which points to the root node to look for the stylesheet.
Since the XML file is in only-readable media, I cannot modify it, so
the solution is to copy the stylesheet to the correct directory. The
problem is that I can't find where this should be. I have tried all
over the place: in the desktop, in the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
