I am new to C++ and I am very interested in becoming proficient. This post
is two-fold. One, I am having problems with this small test program. It is
meant to allow user input to control a "@" character as it moves around the
screen. I understand that it does not have error checking. The problem I am
having is that when I hit the arrow key it moves TWO spaces instead of one.

I am writing a game and I am having a challenge with my combat
function. All I want to do is find out how to group pieces that are in
the same space. There are two sides and all the units that are in the
same space fight. I want to add up the attack factors and defending
factors in the same space then figure out the odds so I can roll

I would like to know what's the best way to implement a business logic
layer between my user interface and my database.
I would say I'd make a dll-project for the business logic layer and make
classes that represent objects/tables. For example, if I have a table

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
