Hi,
migrating from good old python 1.5.2 to python 2.3, I have a problem
running a program that features some threads which execute calls to
an extension module.
Problem is that all of a sudden, I cannot stop the program with a keyboard
interrupt any more; the installed signal handler does not seem to receive
the signal at all.
This happens both if I rebuild this extension using python 2.3

Python 2.4 is built with Microsoft Visiual C++ 7. This means that it
uses msvcr7.dll, which *isn't* a standard part of the windows operating
system. This means that if you build a windows installer using
distutils - it *requires* msvcr7.dll in order to run. This is true even

i use a lot the enumerate in my scripts and got really interested in
possibly writing my own enumerate as an extension, for which i would
want to extend it to be able to pass a start and step attribute.
can anyone point me on my way with good examples for that and how to
write extensions ?

PROBLEM: getting python scripts to execute.
SOLUTION: Insure the script ends in the name extension .py.
Windows associates all such files with the pythonw.exe interpreter program,
and will use it to interpret them. IT IGNORES THE SHEBANG (the first line in
a script which in the lovely world of un*x points to the interpreter
program). Some servers have config files to tell the server what to use....

Hi,
I am trying to get a small group of volunteers together to create
Windows binaries for any Python extension developer that needs them,
much like the package/extension builders who volunteer their time to
create Linux RPMs.
The main thing I need are people willing to test the binaries to make
sure the extension is stable. This would require installing the binary
and probably downloading the source too to get the developer's test

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
