py2exe and libxml

I wrote a little win32 console application that uses libxml2. It is
working fine. If I create an .exe version, I get this error when I try
to start the program:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "MyProgram. py", line 3, in ?
File "mylib\item.pyc ", line 5, in ?
ImportError: dynamic module does not define init function (initlibxml2)

What is wrong here?
Thanks

A quick Google search reveals a thread in the py2exe-users list:

http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mai...-users/3180430

It seems a regression since py2exe 0.6.5, already corrected in CVS trunk.
And according to another post, version 0.6.3 works fine:

Hope this helps,

Thank you. I need to downgrade until they fix the problem. :-(

Hi all, I can't get a py2exe compiled app to run with numarray (numarray-0.5.win32- py2.2). Also wxPythonWIN32-2.3.3.1-Py22 and ActivePython-2.2.1-222. In the sample below, commenting out "import numarray" allows the exe to run. Left in, I get "4.exe has generated errors" etc. I'm going around and around and there isn't much on Google. py2exe output is last.

Dear readers, py2exe has a problem including libxml2. Not at building time, but at runtime. The libxml2.dll cannot be loaded... Is there anyone that NOT has the problem? (and can you drop me your setup.py scipt, please). Thanks in advance, Rene O.

Not so sure what is going on here but is something to do with the way UTF8 is handled in Perl and/or LibXML The sctript below: - accepts a value from a form text field; - builds XML document around it,

Hi, One of our servers has recently been upgraded and as a result both libxml and XML::LibXML have been upgraded. The OS is OpenBSD 3.3. libxml has gone from version 2.4.18 to 2.5.7p1 and XML::LibXML from 1.40 to 1.54 However, since the upgrade, XML::LibXML seems to be affecting Perl's file handling in ways it shouldn't. The following example illustrates this:

I need to do some cross-platform XML in C++. Previously I have used Xerces, but some Googeling indicated that many people prefer libxml. Also it is UTF-8, which is easier for us (Xerces is UTF-16) . So I decided to use libxml++ for my prototype. On Windows it took much longer to set up than Xerces, had to find some obscure DLLs before it would run, Got a GPF at a point, and did the rest of the prototype in Xerces.

I'm currently writing some C code that uses libxml. I've seen several example of parsing xml when the xml are in files. However, I would like to parse the xml from a char buffer. Currently I am creating xml messages and passing it to a server and server response back with xml. I am capturing this data into a buffer (type char) and dumpinging it into an xml file (which I would like to keep for the sake of history). However, instead trying...

I am trying to obtain more debugging information for an issue I reported (ref. Bug #37185 <http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=37185&edit=2>). Unfortunately, I do not have access to the now-ancient Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, which is why I cannot use the pre-built debug sysbol files for debugging. So it appears I must build PHP. I grabbed build php5.1-200605011630 earlier today, but am having build problems. My environment is Windows XP SP2,...

Hello, I'm parsing a chunk of XML code and would like to add attribute values to individual tags if these are lacking. This is with perl 5.8.6, libxml2 2.6.17, XML::LibXML 1.58. Basically, I have the parser add the attribute values to the respective nodes and then use the toString method of XML::LibXML::Document to write the modified text to a scalar. Both the original and the modified text evaluate properly as utf8, but the modified...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
