I'm trying to design a regular expression that matches (using
preg_match()) when a string is a well-formed Email address.
So far I have this: /^+@+\.{2,4}$/i
I got that from reguar-expressions.info. But PHP keeps complaining of
"Unknown modifier 'Z'".
For the life of me I can't figure out how 'Z' is a modifier.
Can anyone help? Thanks much.

Has anyone ever tried implementing a simple unstructured BASIC dialect
in Python? I'm getting interested in language implementation, and
looking at a reasonably simple example like that could be pretty
interesting.

I am trying to set up a mailto: link so that the actual address that
the email is being sent to is obscured and replaced by a name. For
example, I have <a href="mailto:jschmoe@abc.com">Joe Schmoe</a>. When
this link is clicked, an email window appears in the clicker's email
client where the To: field is jschmoe@abc.com. What I want to have
displayed there is Joe Schmoe. I've seen it suggested that formatting
the link like this: <a...

Hi everyone,
Just out of curiosity I recently pointed one of my hand-typed pages at the W3
Validator, and my hand-typed code was just ripped to shreds. Then I pointed
some major sites (microsoft.com, cnn.com, etc.) at the W3 Validator; to my
surprise none of them passed.
Doesn't anyone care anymore, or are the standards more-or-less looked at as
guidlines for web design?

Here's a small method for validating email in C#. It may save you some time..
public static bool IsValidEmailAddress(string sEmail)
{
if (sEmail == null)
{
return false;
}
int nFirstAT = sEmail.IndexOf('@');

Hi,
I'm currently finishing a project that might come in handy for someone else
as well:
I have created 3 classes:
- PersistenceItem: allows for an automatic mapping between properties or
members and fields in a database. I can automatically detected whether any
one the "persisted" members have changed and thus the database record should
be updated, or inserted or deleted. It can work with any OleDb compliant

I am making an application that will be used to send an email message to all
members in a certain group (such as maybe all exec board, or all IT, or all
secretaries, etc.). However, as we all know the may occasionally be a
misspelled email or, more often, someone's email is not working, or for
whatever reason an address returns the message. I want to avoid having this
error displayed, but I still need to know which addresses it did not get...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
