A dictionary for each site seems to be the obvious choice, mapping the
article ID to True or False.

A dictionary for each site seems to be the obvious choice, mapping the

You could also write a class, let's say RSSEntry, with attributes like
"read", "title", "author", "content", "date" and everything you need.
Another class-way would be some class like RSSFeed, being a container
holding entries like RSSFeed[0] RSSFeed[1] etc., each again with
attributes like RSSFeed[0].author.
Those class instances can be pickle'd easily, so you don't have to
bother about any database or stuff. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Hi folks,
I am a newbie to Python and am hoping that someone can get me started
on a log parser that I am trying to write.
The log is an ASCII file that contains a process identifier (PID),
username, date, and time field like this:
1234 williamstim 01AUG03 7:44:31
2348 williamstim 02AUG03 14:11:20

I cannot get Netscape 4.79 to properly display the ordered list in the
following fragment.
<P>Get a specific portion of the date.
Depending upon the value of index:
<ol start=0>
<li>complete value, usually as a <code>String</code>, or if
an integral value as an <code>Integer</code>.
<li>year as an <code>Integer</code>
<li>month number as an <code>Integer</code>

Hi
I have a listbox in a form which has been set on multiselect simple. If
I select some of the items on the list on day1, save and exit, and
return on day2, the items I selected on day1 do not remain highlighted.
How do I ensure that when I return to the form on day2, that the items I
selected on day1 are still highlighted?
Thanks,
Silvia

dropdown list on the page with autopost back = true, my problem is as
follows: when the user selects an option in the dropdown list the form is
posted back to the server and certain other processing happens, then...

Dear Mr. Kern, and Members,
Thank you very much for the fast answer, my question became
over-simplified.
My source code is appended below. It uses two text files (L.txt and
GC.txt) as input and merges them. Please find these two files here:

Is there a way, with VS 2005 and FX 2.0, to read a given inbox? I need to
write a 'monitor' program and my boss is convinced, as is always his first
gut reaction, that we need to go buy a 3rd-party package to just read an
inbox. He may be right this time, but that's not usually my first gut
reaction--we've had too many good employees around here fired 'cause they
spent too much money on albatross software (another soapbox, sorry). I need...

I am building a website and I want to allow users to do certain things
without logging in. I would like to allow them to keep track of certain
items, by adding them to a list.
Like if they are viewing multiple job listings in Houston, they can add each
job they care about to a list and when they are done looking at all the
jobs, they can view the list of say, 10 jobs. They can print the list or
email the list to themselves or someone...

I am working on integrating RSS reading into my ASP.NET web
application. So far I have it working just fine with showing the full
feed, but I'm not sure how to let it handle which items have been read
and not show them. Any suggestions on how to handle this with RSS
items?

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
