We use a number of similar databases and frequently create a new
database using a backup restore of another similar database. We try to
keep changes between databases in _Additional tables - like Account
Additional, Sale_Additional so most tables stay the same. The latest
restored database (I'll call it DBaseA) is behaving differently in VB6
code and I need help trying to make it work.
I have been using use an ADODB.Command to execute...

hello everybody,
is there a way of creating an array with help of a function that would
accept the name of this array as a parameter and then create global
Array type variable of that name?
so that for example the following code would work as well in browsers as
under Windows Scripting Host:
str = "tableA";

Stored procedures are faster and more efficient than in-line SQL
statements. In this article we will look at two SQL Server stored
procedures; one using an input parameter and one not, and see how to
call them from an ASP.Net page
Every modern database system has a stored procedure language. SQL
Server is no different and has a relatively sophisticated and easy to
use system. This article will not attempt to go into depth in
explaining...

I'm using the first code sample below to play WAV files stored as
embedded resources. For some reason I *occasionally* get scratching
and crackling. I'm using a couple WAVs that ship with Windows, and
they play fine outside of my app.
This code works, but has the random "scratching" problem:
private static void PlayResource(string audioRes)
{
// Get the resource into a stream

Can you explain why using ref keyword for passing parameters works
slower that passing parameters by values itself.
I wrote 2 examples to test it:
//using ref
static void Main(string args)
{
List<TimeSpantimes = new List<TimeSpan>();
DateTime start;
DateTime end;
for (int j = 0; j < 1000; j++)

Write the following functions that can be called by a C program:
Write a function to populate an array with random integers between 0 and 99. Use the following functions of which the prototypes are to be found in stdlib.h
• randomize() – use once to initialize the randomization process
• rand() – generates a random number between 0 and the maximum value for an integer. You can scale the values down by means of the modulus.
Write a...

Hello,
I'm trying to pass array as an argument into PL/SQL procedure.
According to cursor manual (http://cx-oracle.sourceforge.net/html/
cursorobj.html) arrayvar() should be use to do it. I've created my
array type in PL/SQL:
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE cx_array_string is table of varchar2(200);
and simple procedure:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
