Hi,
I am relatively new to TOMCAT, and am trying to deploy a web app using it.
I have a domain name that I want to use to access my web app directly.
By default, I deploy my WAR, and it deploys to webapps/myApp.
To access this I have to use a url like
http://mydomain.com/myApp?someparam=1
What I want to do is use this: http://mydomain.com?someparam=1

Problem when using Xp Packaging Wizard and the database being able to find
the Application Icon after database is deployed.
Under Menu/Tools/Startup form I have:
Application Icon: c:\vms\handshak.ico
Unfortunately, when I use the Xp Packaging Wizard the default folder it uses
to install the database vms.mdb is c:\program files\vms. Therefore when the
database is started it can't find the handshak.ico in the directory c:\vms
because it...

I have deployed an ASP.NET application successfully on
Windows 2000 and 2003. When I deploy it on an XP Pro
machine (fresh install with framework 1.1 and IIS
installed), I get a very unexpected result. Keep in mind
I install everything as "default" as it gets, IIS
included. I install my project into a virtual directory,
so I browse to my installed site as:
http://localhost/myproject
Yes, there is a file called "default.aspx" in my...

I love pexpect because it means I may never have to use expect again (I
don't do any heavy expect lifting -- I just need simple tty control)!
As a python advocate I find it embarassing how difficult it is do the
following in python (without pexpect):
- logon to a remote system using ssh
- do an 'ls' and exit the remote shell
- print the output from the remote shell session.

It appears that apps distributed as Python Eggs are either a single
compressed
blob in site-packages directory or a directory under site-packages
directory.
Is this ALWAYS true? So by just erasing stuff under site-packages
I can do a COMPLETE uninstallation of an Egg?

What is the best way to recursively change the permissions of the
directory we are installing into? Is there a nice way to do this in C#
..NET?
We are using an MSI installer and will need to add some custom actions
to change the permissions on the install directory and its sub
folders/files so that they can be accessed correctly via a network
share later on.
We would want to add Everyone full access to the install directory (its

Is there some way I can turn the Default XML Comments off? Each time I
create a new class in the project, I get those annoying default XML
comments tagged to the class and its default ctor. Damn irritating.
I can add XML comments later when I want. I am tired of deleting the
default ones that are created by Visual Studio .NET 2003 everytime.
I've searched Options but to no avail.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
