Handling file downloading with Randy Birch very nice code (http://vbnet.mvps.org/code/internet/ftpdofiledownload.htm) raises a second question: I my case, the user should not be allowed to change the save destination for the downloaded file. Does anyone know if it is possible to circumvent the save dialogbox, for example by hiding it, or by...

I'm trying to display a GIF image in a label as the central area to a Tkinter GUI. The image does not appear, though a space is made for it. Why is this so? I notice that I can display a GIF image in the central area of a simple menu-bar app as shown below in the first code sample. But, when I set up my app with a class, as shown below in...

I have an animated .gif on my website. It is about 36k. I want this on every page in my site, but it appears that it downloads every time a user loads a page. This will kill dial up users. Shouldn't I.E. pull this from Cache if it's there? Is there a way for me to set this image to not download on every page, but instead, use if from...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
