The following code exists in logging/config.py
handlers[hand] = h
except: #if an error occurs when instantiating a handler, too bad
pass #this could happen e.g. because of lack of privileges
The problem here is that if something did go wrong instantiating the
handler, you have no idea what the problem was (permissions, syntax
error, wrong parameters), and later on you get a message like:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "c:\python24\li b\logging\confi g.py", line 151, in fileConfig
log.addHandler( handlers[hand])
KeyError: 'default'
I propose that we change the code so that we have a fighting chance of
figuring out what's going on, like this:
handlers[hand] = h
except Exception, e: #if an error occurs when instantiating a
handler, too bad
print e #this could happen e.g. because of
lack of privileges
But I'm not sure if a "print" statement is the best way to go about it.
Any thoughts? 2 1268

I think this is fixed in subversion, see http://svn.python.org/view/python/tr...38949&r2=42074

I'm about to add some logging calls to a library I have. How can I
prevent that the script that uses the library prints
'No handlers could be found for logger "comtypes.client"' when the
script runs?
I would like to setup the logging so that there is no logging when
nothing is configured, and no warning messages are printed.

I would like to setup a form that will log the users logging in to a
db. The form and the Db will currently log the users if they complete
the logon and get in. It will then log the entry, but not if they
fail to login. If they fail I would like it to log the attempted pass
and the computer name from where they are logging in, the systems are
both win2k and win98 under access 2K.

I have an asp.net ecommerce web application on a remote web server.
I'm using an Access database on the back end. I've notice a few
strange things. When I mimic an multiple user environment by surfin
it in multiple browsers simultaneously the site generates a generic
runtime error after awhile. I'm thinking this has something to do
with my access database and multiple connections. I'm using forms
authentication with a login page. Is...

Hello,
I have two environments, QA and Production. When the users are testing, I
want them to know they are in the QA environment versus the Production
enviroment. One solution would be to use the bottom area of the ASPX page
(not sure what it is called) that informs you what page is loading and then
it says Done upon completion. At some websites I see this used to present a
scrolling banner in that area. How does one do this...what is...

Hi,
I have a Web application in ASP.NET. My Application allows the users upload
files into the server after checking their user names and passwords. For
each transaction, the Web program will write the information about user
name, filename upload, filesize, date and time of uploading into the log
file. (The name of the log file is constructed by Current Year and Current
Month in my program). Is there any problems with writing into the...

If you go to http://europe.nokia.com/A4305060, fill the "Enter your
product code:" field with the value "0523183" and press "Go" (the
ending page URL varies because there's a variable session-ID in the
URL-link associated to "Go") you will obtain this string:
"Version: RM43_V1.10.030"
Is it possible to have a string.php page that just display this string?
how can I do it?

An a redhat box I have root, apache and other normal users run code
that uses the logging module to write to the same log file. Since
umasks are set to 2 or 022 this gets permission errors.
I have fixed my issue by patching the logging code everywhere there is
an open for write with:
try:
old_umask = os.umask(0)
# open for write here

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
