main server configuration

# Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob
McCool.
# Changed extensively for the Debian package by Daniel Stone
<da****@sfarc.n et>
# and also by Thom May <th**@debian.or g>.

# ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
# configuration, error, and log files are kept.
#
# NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network)
# mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation
# (available at
<URL:http://www.apache.org/docs/mod/core.html#lockf ile>);
# you will save yourself a lot of trouble.

ServerRoot "/etc/apache2"

# The LockFile directive sets the path to the lockfile used when Apache
# is compiled with either USE_FCNTL_SERIA LIZED_ACCEPT or
# USE_FLOCK_SERIA LIZED_ACCEPT. This directive should normally be left
at
# its default value. The main reason for changing it is if the logs
# directory is NFS mounted, since the lockfile MUST BE STORED ON A
LOCAL
# DISK. The PID of the main server process is automatically appended to
# the filename.

LockFile /var/lock/apache2/accept.lock

# PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process
# identification number when it starts.

PidFile /var/run/apache2.pid

# Timeout: The number of seconds before receives and sends time out.

Timeout 300

# KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than
# one request per connection). Set to "Off" to deactivate.

KeepAlive On

# MaxKeepAliveReq uests: The maximum number of requests to allow
# during a persistent connection. Set to 0 to allow an unlimited
amount.
# We recommend you leave this number high, for maximum performance.

MaxKeepAliveReq uests 100

# KeepAliveTimeou t: Number of seconds to wait for the next request from
the
# same client on the same connection.

KeepAliveTimeou t 15

I'm getting and internal server error when | run the following
mod_python script. I am actually trying to run Django.

Script:

from mod_python import apache

def handler(req):
req.content_typ e = 'text/plain'
req.write("Unde r Construction")
return apache.OK

You just cant't import mod_python.apac he from the command line.
To run your scripts, you usually do things like (not tested):

try:
from mod_python import apache
APACHE = True
except ImportError:
# for when I'm outside Apache
APACHE = False
class DummyRequest:
"""Simulate s a request object"""

def write(self, mstr):
print mstr

# you may need some other things...
def handler(req):
req.content_typ e = 'text/plain'
req.write("Unde r Construction")
if APACHE:
return apache.OK
############### #######
if __name__ == "__main__":
req = DummyRequest()
handler(req)

MySQLdb is working fine at command line, however when I tried to use it with mod_python, it give me a "server not initialized" error. This is working fine: ----------------------- testmy.py ------------------------------- #!/usr/bin/python import MySQLdb db = MySQLdb.connect(host="localhost", user="root", passwd="mypass", db="my_db") cursor = db.cursor()

I'm not entirely certain comp.lang.python is the proper newsgroup for mod_python questions, but "comp.lang.python.web" doesn't seem to exist, so... my apologies in advance if this is considered off-topic. I'm attempting to get mod_python 3.1.4/python 2.4.1 working on Apache 2.0.54 running under OS X. Apache was compiled from source with a simple /configure --enable-so --with-mpm=worker

I am writing a web application that is comparable to a content management system used in blogging. I really want to use Python after having done some evaluation coding using Python 2.3.5 with mod_python 3.1.4 running on Apache 2.0 with the Publisher handler. However, I am still very hesitant to settle on Python. All my research brings up the same collection of scant articles and old mailing list messages that reference each other. I am...

Hello! I am writing a small program using mod_python publisher extension. I have created several python files and imported them in a `main' file. How can I stop mod_python to byte compile the files? I want to make changes to the files and see result imediately! In the current setup only the changes to the `main' file are applied imediately. I is nearly imposible to develop an application this way.

Hi, all... I am hoping that someone can help me with the magic incantation to get mod_python working on my local machine. Set up: Apache 2.2.9, mod_python 3.3.1 on Windows Vista (yes, pity me). I've gotten the basic mptest.py handler to work with no problem. I am now trying to use the mod_python.publisher, but when I do, I get a 404

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
