PyCon Vs. Europython

My employer has given me the choice to go to either Pycon or Europython
this year,
and I need some help deciding which would be more useful (for me, my
company, and python itself).

I am mainly interested in scientific/engineering applications of
python; and am
keen to work on/learn about some of the more esoteric python projects,
such as the AST integration,
and PyPy. Participating in a sprint would be brilliant.

The line-up of talks at this year's PyCon looks more interesting to me,
compared to Europython 2005.

thanks,

Simon Burton.

As far as I understand, the content of this years
EuroPython is far from decided. I haven't seen any
call for papers yet. You are obviously taking a risk
if you opt for EPC even if you like the PyCon program.

On the other hand, EPC 2006 will take place at CERN,
which might be interesting for someone with an
interest in science, so I suspect that it will attract
more scientists than previous conferences.

Hi all, He're a reminder to submit a talk at EuroPython! Like each year, we have both the regular conference (see call at http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceCFA.py?confId=13919) and a somewhat separated Refereed Papers section. Here is the call for the latter. The deadline for both is the 18th of May.

Björn wrote: Last year rates were: 100 Euros for early bird, 160 Euros for later registration, 65 Euros for early students and 85 Euros for later registration. Thus for most people transportation costs and hotel costs work out to more than Europython costs. There is also a program of financial aide for people who cannot afford the costs, approval on a per-case basis.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
