Hi,
I've run into an issue which seems to have been discussed previously
on `python-dev` but only in context of Zope3:
"Fun with 2.3 shutdown" -- Tim Peters
<http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-dev/2003-September/038151.html>
The following message is displayed (one or more times) when exiting
(in this case via a `KeyboardInterrupt` exception) a multi-threaded

I am embedding python in my C++ application. I am using Python *2.3.2* with
a C++ extention DLL in multi-threaded environment. I am using SWIG-1.3.19 to
generate C++ to Python interface.
Now to explain it in details,
1. Python initialization and finalization
is done in the *main* thread.
2. For each new thread I create a separate sub-interpreter
.
3. Using PyRun_String("import myModule"...) before execution of python

If I embed Python in a C app and the Python code is threaded, but the C
code isn't, do I need to call PyEval_InitThreads() ? - or do you only need
to do that if the C code is threaded ?

Is there any editor or IDE in Python (either Windows or Linux) which
has very good debugging facilites like MS VisualStudio has or something
like that.
I like SPE but couldn't easily use winPDP. I need tips to debug my code
easily.
Every help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I'm attempting to create a lobby & game server for a multiplayer game,
and have hit a problem early on with the server design. I am stuck
between using a threaded server, and using an event driven server. I've
been told time and time again that I should use an event driven server
design (that is, use twisted).
There is a lot of interaction between the clients and they would often
need to write to the same list of values, which of course...

I am back against the wall trying to migrate my multithreaded
application from Python 2.3 to 2.5. The part of the code that's
failing has to do with queues (2.3 queues and 2.5 queues are not the
same). Since WingIDE doesn't support multithread debugging (they've
been saying that one day they might support that - and that was 2003),
I am starting to look for alternatives.
debug under Eclipse/Pydev. I did a google search of this...

Hi,
I'm interested in the alternatives to debugging C# other than Visual
Studio .NET
I have a large multi-threaded application, and I find that the
debugger that comes with Visual Studio .NET is not powerfu enough. Can
anyone direct me to different debuggers that would be better,
especially since the application is threaded?

Newbie to python here..so bear with me.
I used to be able to gdb to a target machine running c/c++ code and
see where my program was hanging, crashing, executing..
How do I do that with python?
I have multi-threaded python programs running on a remote machine. I
want to se where they are at any instance.
If remote debugging is too much to ask for.. what about local

I understand there's socket / recursive calls here, but this is a C
question, really it is:
Here's the code block in question:
#if defined(__GLIBC__)
{
struct hostent hent;
char hbf;
memset(&hbf, '\0', 8192);

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
