Universal newline mode with cgi

I know

fs = open('file.txt' ,'rU')

for universal newlines.
In a cgi script, I get files like this:

fs = form['file'].file

Is there a simple (simple!!! I don't want to do something like write to
a local file and then reopen) way to set the mode of fs in this case so
it does universal newlines?

Read this about the Universal JDBC Driver.... "In a Type 2 mode, the Universal JDBC driver provides local application performance gains (because it avoids using TCP/IP protocol to communicate to the DB2 server). " Wht does it mean by "local" application performance? In type 2 mode, it is a pre-requisite that all the databases that the application running at the client need to be cataloged (through CCA or otherwise) on the client; Most...

To all those who use (X)Emacs's CC Mode to edit C, C++, Java, Objective-C, Pike, AWK or IDL: To help direct the development of CC Mode, it would be useful to find out how people use the auto-newline "minor mode" facility. If you could spare a little time, would you answer these questions, please: o Do you program with auto-newline switched on (e.g. do you get NLs inserted automatically after typing a `;' or `{')? o Did you configure...

Working in HTML mode in the IDE can be frustrating to the point of temporary insanity because of the need to scroll horizontally across extremely long strings, as the editor doesn't put a newline after the closing tag. Is there a third-party add-in to VS.NET that formats the HTML in a more friendly way? Thanks! Timo

I am looking for a way to strip the blank line and the empty newline at the end of the text file. I can get the blank lines removed from the file but it always leaves the end line (which is blank) as a newline. My code is here and it works but leaves the newline at the end of the file. How do I get rid of it? import re f = open("oldfile.txt") w = open("newfile.txt", "wt") for line in f.readlines():

The \n I write out to an open file does not work the second time: $xmlstr = "<?xml version=\"1.0\"\x3F>\n"; $songstr = "<songs>\n"; fwrite($handle, "$xmlstr"); //after this I got a new line fwrite($handle, "$songstr"); //but not after this $lines = file("./clips/$file_name");

When running a doctest text file with doctest.testfile, I noticed that universal newline support did not appear to work when module_relative is False. My text file was saved on a Windows machine but I was testing it on a Linux machine, hence the newline mismatch (doctest would throw a SyntaxError for every incorrect newline). I looked at the svn trunk history for doctest.py and found the following patch: ...

Hi, concerning to unicode, "\n", "\r "and "\r\n" (0x000A, 0x000D and 0x000D+0x000A) should be threatened as newline character at least this is how i understand it: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newline#Unicode) obviously, the re module does not care, and on unix, only threatens \n as newline char:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
